
Looking up a hill,
I feel overwhelmed.
Walking up that hill
one step at a time,
I feel invigorated.
With each step my muscles burn —
in a good way.
With each step,
I thank the Earth for those hills.
Hills that make me use my feet
and legs
and hips
and thighs.
Hills that make
my lungs expand.
Hills that make me
feel whole.
Hills that remind me
of how strong I am.
